Abbot Kinney 2012 We came. We saw. We hooped. Hoopnotica was out and about this past Sunday at the Abbot Kinney Festival in Venice, CA.  Our street team mingled with the crowd and grooved to the live music all day long. We at Hoopnotica like a good festival and any opportunity to get people hooping with us is even better! As the street team proved, making new friends is super easy with a hoop around your waist and a smile on your face. We even got some newcomers to give it a whirl—from kids to grandmas, from beer aficionados to a group of brave U.S. Marines—and learned that hooping is something they don’t teach you in basic training! (Oh, but they should.) Check out this amazing video of one of our own—Jessica Marie—hooping it up and looking fierce at Abbot Kinney! Song: "La Camisa Negra" ("My Shirt is Black") by Juanes
Not that we condone heartbreaking...but we have to admit that we are pretty obsessed with this song (and the video)!  The Hoopnotica Crew shows us "How to Be a Heartbreaker" while hooping in this week's Tunesday video. Grab your hoop and join us! Written and performed by Marina and the Diamonds Produced by: Dr. Luke, Cirkut, Benny Blanco
Happy Tunesday Hoopers!  Our message this week is about working through life's difficulties by "hooping it off". Whether it be workplace stress, excess weight, bad habits, or relationship woes, we encourage everyone to try hooping it off instead of keeping your problems bottled up . (See yesterday's blog post for a little more inspiration along these lines!) This week's tune is an office favorite, but with a twist! As you listen to Florence and the Machine's Shake it Out, remixed by electro POP genius Benny Benassi, find a groove where you can let go of life for a moment and just hoop. The combination of this entrancing song and the priceless footage captured during Hoopnotica's summer HoopJams is sure to make you smile at the very least!

Do you ever get so busy making a life for yourself that you forget to just live? This week, make it a priority to put yourself first. Let go of your stress, do the things you love to do, and just let yourself be free. If you need a little push, drop what you're doing now, pick up your hoop and let loose for even just a few minutes. You have our permission. :) xoxo, Hoopnotica

TGIF HOOPERS!

Who will you be hooping it up with this weekend? xoxo, Hoopnotica
This Wednesday we want to give a shout-out to a blog that inspires us to live a healthy lifestyle (and coincidently also makes us hungry while looking at its drool-worthy recipe photos). The Dashing Dish is a blog that is dedicated to providing "healthy alternatives to the foods you crave". We are most definitely craving her too-good-to-be-true recipes such as the French Toast Protein Shake,Crispy Parmasean Green Bean FriesChocolate Covered Strawberry Fro-Yo, and so many more! We seriously cannot believe that most of her recipes are gluten free, free of added sugars, and kid friendly! xoxo, Hoopnotica

Hooping Gangnam Style

That's right Hoopers, we said "Gangnam Style".... Ok so we know Gangnam-ing might already be so last month, but truth is we are completely addicted. We can't stop playing it at our office HoopJams... So for this Hoop Tunes Tuesday we are giving our latest obsesssion the attention it deserves! Lucky for us, Master Trainer Pamela Crawford's a pro at this dance; you'd be suprised at what skill it takes to Hoop while riding an imaginary horse! Since we couldn't get that adorable Korean boy from the original video to make an appearance, we had the company pup Bodhi step in as the back-up dancer. We think PSY would be proud! So grab your hoop, and join us in Hooping "Gangnam Style!" we garauntee to put a smile on your face. xoxo, Hoopnotica p.s. For those of you who haven't had the pleasure of seeing the original of this wild and riducolously awesome video (and for those of you who still can't get enough), here it is: p.p.s...Is it just us, or does it sound like he actually says "Hooping Gangnam Style"?! Maybe we really are just that hoop crazy...
We started out this week at the Hoopnotica office with this piece of inspiration... A number of our staff have set personal goals that will help them lead a healthier lifestyle, from quitting smoking to healthier food choices... We are so proud and excited to support them! We are firm believers that it is never too late to make positive changes in your life. It might be easier to make excuses and say you'll start tomorrow, or next week, but there is no better time than the present to take care of your health. Whether you need to nix a bad habit like smoking, or establish positive ones like exercise and healthy eating, just remember that today is always the beginning. And being that today also happens to mark the begining of the of Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashana), it really is a beginning. So happy let's all celebrate new beginnings, no matter where we are in life. Happy New Year! xoxo, Hoopnotica

Shipping with a smile

Say hello to Mike, your friendly Hoopnotica Shipping Manager. Mike is a man of many talents, to which Hooping is the newcomer. See how Mike uses his Minis to stay positive and healthy, as he puts a new spin on his phenomenal "riverdance" moves. We had no idea everyone was having so much fun in the Shipping department, but this video explains how our hoops get out on time, and as always, with a smile!
Happy Tunesday Hoopers! This week's featured Hoop Tunes is an office favorite, and is sure to evoke a strong desire to pick up your hoop and move. "Teenage Crime" by Adrian Lux (Axwell Remix) is almost dreamlike, and you can't help but feel like a carefree teenager when it's on. Hooping to this song makes us feel like invincible adolescents dreaming of being dancers and ballerinas as we attempt to twirl as delicately as the Hooper in this video. To give you a little inspiration along with the song, we are bringing you a special video this week featuring one of our new favorite Hoopers moving to the beat of her own hoop and "Teenage Crime." As we watch Hooper Candice Briggie hooping on Beale Street in Memphis, TN, all we want to do is grab our LED and join her! We think it looks super pretty to do a dramatically slowed down corkscrew to this song. What moves are you going to try?...Now it's your turn to wait for the song to build, the beat to drop, and get ready to whirl your hoop like a wild child!
