On the weekend of January 6, 2013 a Hoopnotica Method 1 Training took place with Jen and Keith Moore.  They jointly certified a group of over ten people in teaching the Hoopnotica Curriculum at their very own studio, Roc City Hoopdance and Fitness.   You can search for them on the Teacher Locator and get more information on  how to get Hoopnotica Certified HERE. We are so grateful to have this set of new beautiful Hoopnotica Certified Instructors in our family.  Welcome everyone! Method 1_Rochester_JenMoore_Jan.6.2013
It's a Hoop Off! Hoopnotica's Brilliant Cameragirl Ellen Phillips followed two hoopers around Venice Beach, in a battle that got the crowd dancing in the streets. Can you bring it? Grab your hoop and jam out to this killer throwback! Song: "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)" Artist: Milan feat. Phoenix Music originally recorded by The Four Lads in 1953, released by Columbia Records.
This Tuesday we are completely obsessed with Neon Hitch. The British singer and songwriter's debut album, "Beg, Borrow, and Steal" with Warner Bros. Records is an addictive mix of her souful, jazzy voice set to pop melodies and hip-hop beats.  Right now we are loving her spell-binding mashup, "Cooler Than Me (Mike Posner vs. Sia)" and have been hooping to it all day long! So press play, grab your hoop!

Hoopnotica's Tunesday video this week comes from one of our own Hoopnotica Hoopers, Ellen, with a video that pays tribute to one of her favorite cities in the world, Chicago!

Song: "Come With Me" Artist: ceo (AKA Eric Berglund, from Swedish electro pop group The Tough Alliance, debuted his solo project "White Magic" in June of 2010.) With two contrasting locations, the urban streets of Wicker Park, and the mystical waterfront of Lake Michigan, this video depicts the scenery of a historic city that is filled with excitement and culture on every block! Go Bears! Ellen Pic

We still love hooping to his magical EP!

Abbot Kinney 2012 We came. We saw. We hooped. Hoopnotica was out and about this past Sunday at the Abbot Kinney Festival in Venice, CA.  Our street team mingled with the crowd and grooved to the live music all day long. We at Hoopnotica like a good festival and any opportunity to get people hooping with us is even better! As the street team proved, making new friends is super easy with a hoop around your waist and a smile on your face. We even got some newcomers to give it a whirl—from kids to grandmas, from beer aficionados to a group of brave U.S. Marines—and learned that hooping is something they don’t teach you in basic training! (Oh, but they should.) Check out this amazing video of one of our own—Jessica Marie—hooping it up and looking fierce at Abbot Kinney! Song: "La Camisa Negra" ("My Shirt is Black") by Juanes
Not that we condone heartbreaking...but we have to admit that we are pretty obsessed with this song (and the video)!  The Hoopnotica Crew shows us "How to Be a Heartbreaker" while hooping in this week's Tunesday video. Grab your hoop and join us! Written and performed by Marina and the Diamonds Produced by: Dr. Luke, Cirkut, Benny Blanco
Happy Tunesday Hoopers!  Our message this week is about working through life's difficulties by "hooping it off". Whether it be workplace stress, excess weight, bad habits, or relationship woes, we encourage everyone to try hooping it off instead of keeping your problems bottled up . (See yesterday's blog post for a little more inspiration along these lines!) This week's tune is an office favorite, but with a twist! As you listen to Florence and the Machine's Shake it Out, remixed by electro POP genius Benny Benassi, find a groove where you can let go of life for a moment and just hoop. The combination of this entrancing song and the priceless footage captured during Hoopnotica's summer HoopJams is sure to make you smile at the very least!

TGIF HOOPERS!

Who will you be hooping it up with this weekend? xoxo, Hoopnotica
This Wednesday we want to give a shout-out to a blog that inspires us to live a healthy lifestyle (and coincidently also makes us hungry while looking at its drool-worthy recipe photos). The Dashing Dish is a blog that is dedicated to providing "healthy alternatives to the foods you crave". We are most definitely craving her too-good-to-be-true recipes such as the French Toast Protein Shake,Crispy Parmasean Green Bean FriesChocolate Covered Strawberry Fro-Yo, and so many more! We seriously cannot believe that most of her recipes are gluten free, free of added sugars, and kid friendly! xoxo, Hoopnotica
