The BaseLine BreakAways are the perfect hoops for hoopers who are advancing from beginner to intermediate level. BaseLines start out at 40" in diameter and can go down to 36" in diameter when you remove the included hoop segment. Haiti In a few short months, Hoopnotica Master Trainer Pamela Crawford will journey to Haiti and have a life-changing impact on many children's lives. Pamela is partnering with Project HOPE Art to bring self and group expression to the children of Haiti through the art of Hooping. Pamela will teach hooping skills that will culminate in a community performance at the end of her residency in Haiti. This performance and the days leading up to it will be filmed for documentation as part of "Project Express Yourself". As fellow hoopers, we all know that this form of dance and exercise carries many physical, mental and emotional benefits. In dance as a whole, children find ways to use movement for exploration, and to communicate ideas, issues, and their own feelings and thoughts. Adding a hoop to the foundation of dance not only has a fun and memorable impact on their childhood but throughout their life.

Pamela Hooping Hait Blog Post

Pamela's passion for this project comes from her knowledge that hooping and self-expression are invaluable tools, and she cannot wait to have an impact on these children's lives. But she can't do it alone… The $4250 raised in this campaign will be used to cover the main expenses of executing this project such as transportation, lodging, equipment and filming costs. All PHA team members and Pamela Crawford are volunteering their time, energy and personal expenses into this project. Any funds we may raise above the $4,250 will go towards the greater PHA mission and its Haitian project partners by bringing supplies and materials to those who need it most. PHA is fiscally sponsored by Fractured Atlas which makes all of your donations tax deductible. Click here to find out more and to donate to this incredibly worthy cause! Happy Hooping!
Abbot Kinney 2012 We came. We saw. We hooped. Hoopnotica was out and about this past Sunday at the Abbot Kinney Festival in Venice, CA.  Our street team mingled with the crowd and grooved to the live music all day long. We at Hoopnotica like a good festival and any opportunity to get people hooping with us is even better! As the street team proved, making new friends is super easy with a hoop around your waist and a smile on your face. We even got some newcomers to give it a whirl—from kids to grandmas, from beer aficionados to a group of brave U.S. Marines—and learned that hooping is something they don’t teach you in basic training! (Oh, but they should.) Check out this amazing video of one of our own—Jessica Marie—hooping it up and looking fierce at Abbot Kinney! Song: "La Camisa Negra" ("My Shirt is Black") by Juanes
Happy Tunesday Hoopers!  Our message this week is about working through life's difficulties by "hooping it off". Whether it be workplace stress, excess weight, bad habits, or relationship woes, we encourage everyone to try hooping it off instead of keeping your problems bottled up . (See yesterday's blog post for a little more inspiration along these lines!) This week's tune is an office favorite, but with a twist! As you listen to Florence and the Machine's Shake it Out, remixed by electro POP genius Benny Benassi, find a groove where you can let go of life for a moment and just hoop. The combination of this entrancing song and the priceless footage captured during Hoopnotica's summer HoopJams is sure to make you smile at the very least!

Do you ever get so busy making a life for yourself that you forget to just live? This week, make it a priority to put yourself first. Let go of your stress, do the things you love to do, and just let yourself be free. If you need a little push, drop what you're doing now, pick up your hoop and let loose for even just a few minutes. You have our permission. :) xoxo, Hoopnotica
