Kimpton Hotels CEO Niki Leondakis Hoopnotica Name: Niki Leondakis Location: San Francisco and Kimpton Hotels worldwide! Occupation: CEO, Kimpton Hotels Favorite Song to Hoop to: “Wipe Out” by the Surfaris How She Started Hooping: At Kimpton's annual general managers meeting, new employees must stand in front of a room of colleagues and compete in a "hoop off" as the song "Wipe Out" plays in the background. One year, Kimpton hired a hula hoop expert to teach the staff. Ms. Leondakis was so inspired after an hour-long lesson that she went home and continued practicing. "I thought I was fit but I woke up the next morning and my abs were so sore," she says. She now supplements her workouts, which include running, weight training and yoga, with hula hooping four times a week. – as quoted from The Wall Street Journal
